Because Presbyterians Love Box Fans
Many thanks to Alan Ford and Henry Owen for their help in loading over 400 box fans in Austin and helping deliver them to Lake Charles, Louisiana to help those in need after Hurricane Laura. Along with the fans, over 200 hygiene kits from First Presbyterian Austin and Holy Trinity in San Antonio we’re also delivered to the devastated area. Thank you to all who are helping those struggling through the rebuilding process in the time of Covid-19.

Howdy Smithville Presbyterians,
As I am approaching forty days of isolation during this pandemic, I chose to look up the meaning of forty days and I found several meaningful verses. The one that seemed to me to be applicable to our current situation is the following:
Genesis 8:6
Then it came about at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
As we open our individual isolation arks we should look forward to a new and different lifestyle with great promise for our future.
Stay safe and Trust In The Lord.
David H.

Thursday, April 9, 2020 - A Message from David Herrington:
Howdy,
I Hope all of you are well and staying safe during this crisis. I am well; another day of being isolated for me. My daughter is keeping tabs on me remotely and talking to me by phone or Face Time daily, and coming weekly to talk to me thru my glass front door and bringing needed supplies.
This crisis brings to mind my early memories of WW II, the Polio Epidemic, Cuban Missile Crisis, and my Fallout Shelter management training during the Cold War; rationing, shortages, fear, obedience and preparedness. One important memory stands out vividly; We made it through those terrible days by doing what we were supposed to do. I have every confidence that we too will make it through this trial.
Stay home, stay safe and Trust in the Lord.
David H.
