Working on Donations Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011
Even though it was hard work, it was a time to rejoice in the company of friends and family.
There were bags of glue, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, scissors. It took many hands to sort it all out. The generosity of the donations was overwhelming.
Diana King organized the school supplies that were donated in Smithville. All were moved to FPC to be separated, and dispensed to the Smithville schools to be given to kids who lost their backbacks and supplies in the fires.
The 140th Birthday Celebration of the Smithville First Presbyterian Church - September 18, 2011
The church library is used for fellowship, meetings and reading. The wall is decorated with crosses dedicated to family members.
Round Rock Express Trip:
-- On August 5th group of FPC members and friends went to Dell Diamond to see the Round Rock Express play the Salt Lake City Bees. Travel was by school district vans. A good time was had by all, despite the very warm weather. Round Rock won 2-0 and the game was followed by an impressive fireworks display! Thanks to Doug for arranging and, along with Hoyt, driving us!
